  • Nice show, kids. Any way you can get a snap of Mindy to share? I can't believe somebody hasn't told her about your guys stalking her :-)

Here's a new term I coined: podcest. What do YOU think it means?

By Blogger etherdog, at 11:05 AM

  • Another stellar show!

By the way (and not to revive an old ghost), you can blame Can-Con for the existence of Bob and Doug McKenzie. The guys who did SCTV were bound by the regulations to include something 100% Canadian, since they did the show in Edmonton.

By the way (and this is for Karen, mostly), my daughter asked me last night what "butter tarts" are. Evidently, she discovered this term on one of those annoying "Kids Bop" CDs I bought for her many years ago. I think these are a Canadian thing, no?

    C ya...

  • Judging by the fact that you didn't share you devoted love of The Big Show, I'm left to wonder if we were added to your special unsubscribe list. I hope not.

  • Butter tarts are indeed a Canadian thing. One of the many things that have caused a puzzled look in my direction over various holidays spent in the States.

  • Jason, you ooze sexiness. Case closed.

Podcest...it runs rampant in our circle doesn't it?

Did someone say buttertart? They are a little piece of heaven, right here on earth.

Aaron, give yourself a shake dude. Podcasters are so needy ;)

  • mmm butter tart. Oh man why does your show keep refering to food I can't get here in Hong Kong!

Speaking of which, I couldn't help commenting about Shepard's Pie despite it being only in the title. Recipe? Mine's not that good, but I know my mom cooks a mean shepard's pie.

Great show YET again. I laughed my ass of with the George Bush thing.

unsubcripbed thingy? I prefer to go by the listen to whatever whenever I feel like it way. I have a few regulars, but a lot of casts I listen to I'm not even subsribed to. When I have downtime or something I just go to the picke and visit a couple that I know I like and listen from there.

So, I have my few subscribed shows to listen to and then there's the pickled shows (which keep for a long time because their pickled --- uggh sorry I think the pickle analogy is dead now).

  • Hi Guys,

Great show again! Wow..this is getting to be a trend here... quality and content in a drunken chewy nugut! :)

Yes, I did indeed steal the "Please, no wagering." line from David Letterman, but only after he intercepted it from me first. You see...I had it... fumbled it... He ran with it for a few metres... he punted on 3rd down (Canadian content rules here 35%) ... I moved it ahead for 5 metres then on 2nd down I passed into the end zone where he intercepted ... and he touched it back for a single. And he kicked off, so, technically, barring a fumble, it's in his possession at the start of the half.

Thanks for the Andycast plug and thanks for the link.

  • Wait wait wait. Hng on just one little second here. Yo're out there unsubscribing from podcasts so you can do crazy stuff like spend time with your son and read books ( ;-) ), but did you not also recommend at least three podcasts during this very show? How can I follow Zee and Zed blindly into the future when you give conflicting advice like this? I'm going to turn up the Hellacopters and bang my head against a wall!

By Blogger Shelly, at 1:28 PM

  • Shelley, take this as one example: it turns out that once I unsubscribed from the Daily Source Code (probably the 4th time I've done so) suddenly 1 hour of my day is freed up.

I'm not going to name other shows because that's pointless, everyone's tastes are different and while I'm sure Adam Curry doesn't scan our blog I'm not about to attempt to hurt anyone's feelings...but now that I've got that hour free of Adam Curry everyday as well as about 5 or more hours a week freed up I can now discover new shows (if I feel so inclined).

The ones suggested we were already subscribed to though so it's not like we're adding time to our listening schedule to listen to them, it would just be adding time to your listening schedule if you subscribed to them.

Also, I would never follow us, we have no idea what the hell we're talking about, it's a wonder George Bush listens to our show...then again, I guess it's not a wonder.

  • Now Ross,

Don't sell yourself short. You're podcast is very good for me to listen to. I like the music and I now use egregious in everyday conversations. Like when I talk to Uncle Dicky. Just this morning I said "Hey Dick, put that shotgun down...it's egregious to think you'd shoot me in the face."

Shelly, feel free to follow me as I rid the world of the Axis of Evil. Stop by the White House sometime...we can have some Jelo sitting in the Rose Garden.

  • Hey...as long as it's not my podcast you're unsubscribing to, I'm with you. I was totally stuck in what I call "Podshow" land that I was so missing out on some really great show...including Zee and Zed. Unfortunately this also means that you may find some "klunkers" out there too... but such is the sheer joy of podcasting... I envision a day when everyone that listens to podcasts is a podcaster themselves.. how cool would that be!

  • Hey,

I don't know if you knew this but Lyndon did an interview on the Uncomfortable questions.
