  • When are you going to produce your own %$#^&*% podcast so you can stop commenting on the entertainment value or lack thereof, of everyone else's podcast?

What do you want for free?

  • I'm listening now -
Hey Karen I use to be a t.v. junkie too - remember when we had time to sit in front of the t.v. and just veg. Those were the days. Seinfeld was one of my favs. I think I saw every Seinfeld - well lets just say more than once.

  • Had to leave a message when I heard you talk about the difference between America and Canada with the cars. In the UK the do something my Dad would find very disconcerting! They park on the curb, half the car on the curb and half off. It is amazing to drive down a narrow road and see all these cars parked this way! I can hear my Dad scream..."You'll ruin your wheels and tires!!!!" Another thing that seems to not be illegal...well I don't think so anyway, to park anywhere you darn please. Want to park heading the wrong direction in the drive lane around a bend? Why not! I got a ticket in the States for parking in a parking slot the wrong direction on a street! But not here. You can park in the road here! Everyone just slows down, signals and goes around the stupid car or van!

  • erm no, you can't park just anywhere here- we have traffic wardens in towns, & we do have rules for surburban streets too - but they're not very rigidly enforced in the suburbs, we just expect people to abide by them in a polite English way-- which lots of people don't!! ;)

  • Hi everyone. I just wanted to say thanks for your compliments and keeping us entertained with your comments.

    Diane, you're no suck up.

Kelli/Jason, we've watched every Seinfeld more than once as well. Same for Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Jason, if it would make you feel any better I can try and hate your show (I just don't think I'll be very good at that). Also, I'm guesing we'll probably be in Brooklyn in about 6 or 7 years. We'll definitely look you up.

And for the record, we know etherdog is one of our most honest and vocal listeners. He's a great guy (from what we know of him) and we're glad to have him here (even if he can be a bit pedantic by his own description).

Dawn, welcome to our little world.

Just thought I would write for a change to say hello. Back to my corner that Karen sequestered me in (I'm kidding).

  • Good luck with mummsy. Best of luck to mom on quiting smoking too. It's been 6 years for me - not a drag in that time.

Of course, I tried quitting 3,000 times before that. The long and the short of it is that you quit when you're ready to quit. The that she always brings smokes with her (even though she runs out) is a strong indicator, she doesn't really wanna quit yet.

That's my take on it. Although, funny that you mentioned that computer thing..I totally forgot about those. What a scam they were. I tried one once. The idea was smart, you press the button to tell it your smoking. Once you've done this for a week or so, the machine begins to beep when you are allowed to have a smoke - you're suppose to press the button if you cheat.

Truth is, I was literally hiding the machine to smoke, so it didn't know! How sad eh!

It's freakin' hard to quit smoking.

    Cheers,
    Dave

I'm going to go post this on your comments and share it with the kids.
